The Health Care Training Program was launched during the 2005-06 school year to accommodate student demand for nurse aide training. The program is made possible this year through a partnership with Leahy Caregivers.

Students that successfully complete the program and pass a state certification exam are qualified to work in long-term care facilities in Pennsylvania. CNA experience can be a valuable step for students who wish to pursue further opportunities as health care professionals.

The CNA program is selective, with individuals being chosen based on a number of criteria established by YouthBuild Philadelphia. Roughly twenty students per year will be chosen to participate in the program.
