YouthBuild Philadelphia will receive an initial increment of $687,500, with increments awarded for a two-year period (and a third year based on available funding). YouthBuild Philadelphia is one of 183 programs in the U.S. and nine in Pennsylvania to be awarded DOL grants this year. (5/09) YouthBuild is proud to announce that Executive Director Simran Sidhu has been named as a recipient of one of this year's Philadelphia Business Journal 40 Under 40 Awards! This program recognizes 40 individuals each year, under the age of 40, who are proven performers in their respective industries and communities. Details Photos from the Event ABC 6 Action News Coverage Eighteen Students Complete Nurse Aide Training (6/9/09) On June 9, 2009, 1199C Training and Upgrading Fund held a special ceremony to honor eighteen YouthBuild students that recently completed the Certified Nurse Aide training program (currently implemented by 1199C). Philadelphia First Lady Lisa Nutter highlighted the event. To date, sixteen students from the Class of 2009 have earned their state nurse aide certifications. Go YouthBuild! Photos from the Event Back to Top Global Youth Service Day (4/24/09) YouthBuild celebrated Global Youth Service Day on Friday, April 24, 2009 by beginning the full-gut "green" rehabilitation of a home at 4556 North Uber Street in the Nicetown area of Philadelphia. YouthBuild students and staff also provided a number of other services to local organizations around Philadelphia.
