DO YOU KNOW A HIGH SCHOOL DROPOUT? WE ARE NOW ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR FALL 2013.

YouthBuild Philadelphia Charter School offers out-of-school youth, ages 18-20, a second chance to earn a high school diploma and prepare for college and career.

Benefits also include:

Job training and certification
College counseling
Earning a $1,800 AmeriCorps award for continued education

Eligibility:

At least 18 years old, but not older than 20 on the first day of enrollment, September 3, 2013
Resident of Philadelphia
Formally dropped out of public high school (transfer students and post-graduates are not eligible for the program).

Admissions Process:

Interested individuals can submit an application online here or at our location at 1231 N. Broad St., 3rd Floor, Philadelphia, PA 19122. Applicants can also print a paper copy to fill out at home: 2013 Application

The application process at YouthBuild Philly has multiple additional steps:

All applicants meeting the eligibility requirements will be contacted and invited to attend a group information session.
All applicants who attend orientation will then to an individual interview.
The most motivated applicants will then be invited to an eight-day Mental Toughness Training orientation in August 2013.
Students who successfully complete Mental Toughness Training will be eligible for the approximately 215 slots available for fall 2013. If needed, YouthBuild will hold a blind random lottery to determine which final applicants will enroll in September 2013.
