Stage 2 - Interview
Each applicant that meets the minimum prerequisites is invited to an initial interview and orientation. During this interview, YouthBuild determines a potential fit between the applicant and the school. A team of staff and alumni conducts and scores the interviews on the basis of applicant motivation.
If you have applied for the 2008-09 school year, you should hear from a YouthBuild representative about your application status no later than July 4, 2008. If you do not hear from YouthBuild by this date, please contact us.
The school contacts each applicant that does not meet the minimum prerequisites with a reason for his/her ineligibility.
Stage 3 – Mental Toughness Training (MTT) (Late August)
YouthBuild invites the highest scoring applicants to return in late-August for “Mental Toughness Training," an intensive, two-week selection process designed to introduce individuals to the YouthBuild model of learning (and prepare them to step back into the classroom).
Preparation is achieved through a series of workshops, leadership exercises and team building activities. During MTT, students must adhere to a series of rules and guidelines to complete the training.
