Assessment
Student assessments are based on a combination of classwork, homework, participation and a "Competency-Based Portfolio" that demonstrates the student's mastery in a set of skills learned during the trimester. The portfolio presentations and assessments are intended to help students make connections between theory and practice, and review the progression of their work throughout the program.
"Teaming"
To help students be successful and graduate on time, the education staff and case managers meet with students who are falling behind in attendance or schoolwork. Together the YouthBuild staff work to ensure that failure is not an option.
